Failed FO Friday

Well, readers, I don’t have a finished sweater for you today, but I do have a really good excuse. (Well, it’s a really good excuse if you’re a YA lit nerd like me. If not, it might seem somewhat lame)

I was going to finish weaving in ends last night while listening to Catching Fire, the second Hunger Games book. But I’m almost at the end of my audiobook, and it’s really rather exciting and terrifying suspenseful, so it’s really hard for me to focus on what I’m doing while I’m caught up in the story. So I wove in all the ends except for the ones involved in the gaping armpit holes I mentioned yesterday, which look like this:

gaping hole closeup

(Sorry for the poor photo quality – my dumphone is bad at closeups. There are a couple of loose stitches in there, contributing to the gaping holes. Have you ever had something like this happen to you? How did you fix it?)

I tried to figure out how to fix the gaping armpit holes, and couldn’t do it. I got too wrapped up in the story, and would just sit there with the sweater and darning needle in my hands, staring into space.

So I picked up my stockinette stitch sock and knit feverishly. I always knit faster when experiencing strong emotions (when I need to get knitting done quickly, I watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy in a row).

Maybe FO Saturday will be possible. But I still have 2 discs left of Catching Fire, so maybe not. đŸ˜‰
